After spending most of June (three weeks) in the hospital we thought it might be nice to take a vacation. We went back home to Utah for a week and a half. It is always so nice to go back home and see family. We were able to find some fairly inexpensive tickets right out of College Station. With inexpensive plane tickets come horrible flight times. We arrived in SLC at midnight and our flight home left SLC at 6:00am. We had a wonderful visit. The new family pictures on the blog are from the Beam family photo shoot. It is nice having an updated family picture for all to see our cute little family. We didn't spend much time relaxing since we have a lot of family and friends to see.
We spent Friday and Saturday up at Heber Valley Camp, a church owned camp, for Leslie's family reunion. President Hinkley spared no expense with this camp. http://www.hebervalleycamp.org/ There was a good turn out of about 160-170 people total. We saw lots of deer, squirrels, chipmunks, and butterflies. Leslie and Kim conquered the challenge course by climbing up a 25 foot tree, then walking 15 feet across another log, still 25 feet in the air, then taking a 200 foot zip line back down to solid ground. Conner even tried to tackle the course, but got scared about 5 feet in the air. The elevation really took its toll on Nikolas who basically slept for all but the last three days. Poor little guy.
One of the many highlights was Nikolas's baby blessing. It was a very large circle, I think there were 12 people, all family members. Kim, the epitomy of manly men, struggled with his emotions during the blessing- he cried through the whole thing, to provide a wonderful and beautiful blessing. Here are a few pictures from our trip. Enjoy!!!
Leslie 25 feet above the ground on a challenge course at the family reunion
All of Kim's shirts have stains from food that have fallen on them. This is Leslie not acting like the bad ol mama she is, but hiding a spot on her shirt from lunch that I was trying to take a picture of.
Four generations of Beams. Great grandma Beam, Grandpa Beam, Kim and our boys. Great grandma Beam has a mild form of leukemia and most likely will not be around much longer. It was such a special treat to have her there, she was visiting from Seattle. It was a very emotional goodbye because we may never see her again.
Cafe Rio does a body good. Too much makes you look like these two overweight has- beens.

Taking off on our paddle boat on Legacy Lake.
Blessing dinner with all the Beams and Waltons. What a great feast and a great time we have when we get together.

Looks like fun! I'm so glad that y'all had such a great time in Utah!
I am so glad that you guys had such a good time. You deserve some fun. We're glad that you made it home safe, and it's nice to have you back in Texas :)
How nice to follow up a long stint at the hospital with a family vacation! Brittney said Nikolas's blessing was beautiful... wish we could've been there! Conner is just getting too big!! He's a little man! I love his church outfit.
Brittney loves the new background. The purple sets off Kim's manliness. Love the pictures and as always we loved seeing you and eating til we puked. Can't wait til the next visit.....IN HAWAII!!!!!
I like the new layout and the pictures of your family and the kids. It was so nice to see you when you were here. I didn't know you went up to the Heber property. It looks like so much fun. I really wish we could have made it to the blessing. I am sorry that we didn't. I am sure that Kim did a great job though-especially from what my parents said.
Glad you got a chance to come back and spend some time with family and friends. Sometimes you just need a break from everything...
Sorry I am bad about commenting all the time. I have been following along with all your trials. You guys are amazing! I am sure it is hard to keep the faith, but it sounds like you have been.
Nikolas is looking so much healthier! I love his chubby cheeks! Your family is so cute!
We will continue to keep you in our prayers!
Looks like you had such a good time! Such fun pictures. Connor looked so buff. I bet Chloe will fall in love with him if she sees that picture :) Glad you are back!
How fun for you guys. I am so glad you got to get away from all the craziness you have gone through recently and were just able to relax and have fun and be with friends and family!
Les..I wanted to leave a comment about a 'memory'. There really are so so so many! Of course "Louise"-which I too still really giggle at, but YW's, Rough Camp, Super Summer's, Dixie w/ Cynth,Kami & Mandy) and LOTS of HS memories between Sem. counsel, Madrigals..etc..I do remember going up to Ogden with you and Carrie to pick up your cheer outfits and Carrie swerved over 3 lanes of traffic to make the exit. I am glad we are all alive! :) Fun Times!!!!
I really like your new blog format. It makes me want to change mine. I love the picture of Nikolas on the side panel in the white outfit. It looks like you or Kim are propping him up against a tree. He looks so adorable. Talk to you soon!
