what's been going on

Over the last month we've been busy but I don't really even know with what. Just life I guess, crazy how that happens. When one of us gets sick, we all get sick, no matter how hard I try, it just is inevitable with little kids. N has been sick off and on (more on than off) ever since he started school, therefore so have the rest of us. I know that it's pretty normal for kids to get sick when they start school because they get exposed to so many more germs, but I have to say that I'm really tired of diarrhea, moans and groans and runny noses. Plus, it takes N longer to get over sicknesses and germs that aren't a big deal for my other kids, turn into big ordeals for N. Thankfully we've only had one ER visit so far for dehydration!

Big C started soccer again and is doing better this season and enjoying it more. K didn't have to be the coach this time, another Dad with a little more soccer experience stepped up! Here's Big C with his friend, Wade.
And after working for 6 months to make this happen, N finally got his wheelchair. It was a little anticlimactic, however, because since the company measured him in March and it's now October, he had grow and gotten too big for the chair! We have to have them come back out and try to adjust things to see if he will fit in it or if we just need a bigger size. Plus, he's walking now and doesn't really even need it as much as he used to. It will still be helpful for transportation purposes, especially for school.

Our car broke down...twice. We knew it was coming since our car is 12 years old. It's been a really good car and after $850, it's running again. That's probably more than the car is even worth. Oh well, it's worth it to us to not have a car payment.

I've spent most of my time at doctor's appointments and therapy for N, but that's nothing new. On my way downtown the other day for an appointment, I got pulled over in the HOV lane and was clocked going 58 mph in a 45 mph zone. I honestly thought the speed limit was 60 mph and didn't even see a speed limit sign. I tried my best to explain it to the cop without sounding pathetic or oblivious, but he didn't even listen to me at all and gave me a $200 ticket!!! That definitely wasn't a good start to a day of doctor's appointments and 8 diapers of diarrhea (and that didn't include Little C's diapers)!!

Otherwise, we are hanging in there...praying for rain and cooler weather and trusting God that he knows what he's doing with our lives. When you have faith, everything works out for the best in the end.

What a bummer that you got such a nasty ticket. I am so sorry! I love to see C playing soccer, cause Cameryn is playing again too. She's finally enjoying it, after how many seasons :) I hope you guys get feeling better! Let's hope this winter is not a nasty one.
